The bench

Four workshop roles cover inspection, maintenance, braking and cooling work. Each bench card explains its responsibilities, service focus and the information that helps direct an enquiry.

  • Hands at a suspension assembly on a vehicle raised over a workshop floor.

    Saskia Broome

    Diagnostic technician

This role records symptoms, completes the initial road or static checks, and explains what the inspection can establish before any repair scope is proposed. The emphasis is a written finding rather than a guess. Direct enquiries here when warning lights, unfamiliar sounds or several possible causes need to be separated.

  • Hands drawing the dipstick from an engine at an open bonnet.

    Otis Brennan

    Maintenance technician

This role handles routine fluid and battery checks, records the parts and grade used, and flags observations that fall outside the agreed service. Nothing additional is started without approval. Direct enquiries here for planned oil service, a starting concern or a maintenance question that does not require emergency response.

  • A wrench turned on an engine component beneath an open bonnet.

    Tamsin Caldwell

    Brake and chassis technician

This role measures brake wear, inspects visible chassis components and records the findings before discussing any next step. The work focuses on measured condition and clearly separated scope. Direct enquiries here when braking feel has changed or an inspection is needed before a longer journey.

  • A figure at floor level preparing a vehicle panel in a wide workshop.

    Adaeze Okoro

    Cooling and vehicle-inspection technician

This role checks cooling-system pressure and visible condition, then documents what is found before parts or additional work are discussed. It also supports whole-vehicle pre-purchase inspections. Direct enquiries here when temperature behavior has changed or when a used vehicle needs an independent written overview.

Where the bench concentrates

Every service on the board maps to a workshop role. State the vehicle, symptom and preferred service on the contact form so the enquiry can be directed without promising a particular technician or time.

Describe the symptom

A short description of the vehicle and what it is doing is enough to have a service named and a scope written down.

Notices from the workshop

An occasional note when the service board changes. An email address and nothing else.
