Four roles across six services

Each role concentrates on two of the six services. The emphasis is the same across all four: a short scope conversation, a real sitting, and every delivered frame checked by a person.

  • Two colour reference charts clipped to a stand in front of a studio wall.

    Ivy Serrano

    Studio lead and lighting director

Sets the lighting for every sitting and decides which of the studio’s backdrops suits the brief. Runs the portrait consultation, where the crop, the wardrobe and the intended use of the picture are agreed before a camera is switched on.

  • A portrait set-up on location: a softbox, a speedlight, a reflector and a chair.

    Marcus Feld

    Portrait photographer

Photographs the standard and executive sittings and directs the sitter through the twenty to forty frames a session is built on. Chooses which of those frames the variation pass may draw from, and says plainly when a second sitting would serve the brief better than more retouching.

  • Two hands drawing the black outer skin of an octagonal softbox back to show its silver lining.

    Dana Okoye

    Retouch and set review

Reviews every generated variation against the frames it came from, corrects what the model gets wrong and rejects anything that has stopped looking like the person who sat. No image leaves the studio without passing this desk.

  • The splayed legs of two black lighting stands standing on a bare wooden floor.

    Tomas Brandt

    Client sessions and scheduling

Handles enquiries, scheduling and the running order of a team headshot day. Confirms every date with the client directly rather than through the website, and keeps the studio to the delivery dates it publishes.

What the studio concentrates on

One photographer stays with one sitting from the scope conversation to the delivered set. That is the whole reason the studio takes fewer bookings than the room could hold.

Start with a consultation

It costs nothing, commits nobody, and ends with a written note of what was discussed.

New work, occasionally

An email when new frames go up on the studio wall or a sitting opens up. No fixed schedule, and one link in every message removes an address from the list.
