A price with no scope beside it is not information. Each service below states what it covers, what it does not, and who it suits, so the choice can be made before the first conversation rather than during it.

Artist consultation
no charge
Up to forty-five minutes with the artist who would run the work. References are read, placement is discussed on the body, constraints and timing are recorded, and the conversation ends with a written note of what was agreed. No drawing is produced at this stage.
Suits Anyone deciding whether a piece is possible, and anyone who has been told no elsewhere and would like the reason.

Small custom piece
from $150
A drawing made for the agreed placement and completed in one sitting of up to three hours. Covers linework and light shading at the scale agreed in the estimate. Colour packing and large-scale shading fall to a half-day session instead.
Suits A first tattoo, a piece under roughly a hand's span, or an addition that has to sit against work already there.

Half-day session
from $650
A four-hour block with breaks, on a design agreed and drawn beforehand. Enough for a substantial single piece or for one stage of a longer project. The estimate states which of the two the block is for before it is booked.
Suits Work too large for one sitting but not large enough to need a full day, and any piece that needs a planned second stage.

Full-day session
from $1,100
Seven hours with breaks, and the chair is not shared with anyone else that day. Used for large single pieces, for the first stage of a sleeve, or for a cover-up that has to be completed in one pass to sit correctly.
Suits A committed project with a drawing already agreed, and anyone travelling to Baltimore for the work.

Cover-up assessment
$50
A forty-five minute appointment examining existing work under studio light: its density, its age, its ink and its edges. Ends with a written statement of what is possible, what it would take, and whether removal should come first.
Suits Anyone carrying work they would rather not carry, including people who have already been told a cover-up is impossible.

Aftercare kit
$22
Wrap, unscented cleanser and a fragrance-free balm, with the studio's written aftercare sheet. Included with every session at no extra charge; the price listed applies only when a kit is bought separately as a replacement.
Suits Anyone replacing a kit part-way through healing, or healing work done elsewhere and wanting the studio's routine.

What happens in each of the three stages

Consultation
A conversation about the intended result, the placement, the references and the constraints. It costs nothing and commits nobody. It ends with a written note of what was discussed.

Drawing and estimate
A drawing is made for the specific body and placement. The estimate states the session length and the price for the agreed scope. Nothing is scheduled until both are accepted.

Session and aftercare
The agreed session runs as scheduled. Written aftercare goes home with every piece, and a follow-up appointment is offered for any work that needs a second pass.
When another studio is the better answer
Black Finch Tattoo does not work on anyone under eighteen, does not tattoo hands, necks or faces on a first visit, and declines work that copies another artist's original design. A studio that says yes to everything is not being generous; it is being careless.
