A white room, a drawing board and one project at a time
Black Finch Tattoo occupies a single room on Black Finch Alley. The walls are white because a drawing is easier to judge against nothing at all.
The studio was set up around one working rule: no needle is loaded until the drawing, the placement, the session length and the price are all agreed. That rule costs the studio bookings, because it turns some walk-in enquiries into a consultation and a wait. It is kept because the alternative is a customer discovering the scope of the work while it is happening to them.
References are read, not traced. A photograph brought to a consultation describes an intended result -- a weight of line, a density of shading, a way of sitting on an arm. What follows is a new drawing made for that specific placement. Copying another artist's original design is declined, and the reason is given at the consultation rather than after the deposit.

The estimate is the price
A published price applies to the published scope. A change in scope is quoted before it is made, never invoiced after it.

One artist, one project
The artist who runs the consultation is the artist who runs the session. A project is not passed along to free up a chair.

A decline is an answer
Work outside the studio's range is declined at the consultation, with a reason. That is a shorter conversation than a disappointing result.

The agreed session, written aftercare, and a follow-up appointment offered where a second pass is needed.
What this website does
This site publishes the studio's services, prices and hours and carries a contact form. It does not confirm an appointment. The Book action sends the visitor to the studio's configured booking destination, and a date is only ever confirmed by the studio directly.
