Four roles cover the cutting table and the cold store at Fernwood Stem Studio. Each profile explains the work it handles, the services it supports and when that role is the right first point of contact.
Lead florist, vase and event work
Sets the colour brief for every order that leaves the studio and builds the vase and event work that has to stand on its own. The role explains what a season will actually give, why a photograph cannot be matched stem for stem, and where a substitution will hold a look better than the flower originally asked for.
Hand-tied and subscription florist
Concentrates on work built in the hand: bouquets, posies and the weekly subscription arrangements. Each order is assessed for stem strength, spiral and how far it has to travel before a size or a price is confirmed, because a bouquet that will be carried needs different stems from one that will be placed.
Order, delivery and tribute coordinator
Takes order details, delivery windows and card wording, and keeps the studio's day in the order the deliveries have to run. This role confirms what a date actually allows before it is promised, and keeps collection and delivery details clear without pretending that a message places an order.
Conditioning and finishing florist
Handles the buckets and the cold store: stripping, cutting and conditioning every delivery, then the final water, check and wrap before anything leaves. The role decides what is strong enough to go out that day and what is held back, which is the last point at which a weak stem can be caught.
Between the four roles, every service on the list has somebody who works on it. Naming a preferred bench on the contact form is possible; availability is confirmed separately.
A description of the occasion, the colours wanted and the date is enough to start. The studio replies with what is in season for that date and what it would cost.
It is published in the open, where anyone can copy it, so it is left short of its final polish and audit pass. The design chosen is fully audited and polished before it goes live.
