Four engineers, four records
Four engineers run Ridgeline Sound Rooms between them. Each record states the role held and the two services it concentrates on, so an artist can tell who records the day and who masters the result before the first message. The photograph beside a record shows the tools rather than the person — a microphone grille, a run of faders — because none of the four are photographed and the equipment is the part worth looking at.

Founder and head engineer
Maren Holloway opened Ridgeline Sound Rooms on Foundry Walk and still engineers most of the tracking days, placing the microphones, setting the preamps and handing over the session files at the end of the day. Enquiries about a tracking day or a live-room day are read by this role, and the reply states which dates are actually open rather than inviting an artist to hope.

Mix engineer
Dev Okafor mixes on the console with artists in the room and runs the vocal overdub blocks. Every change is made where the artist can hear it, and the mix is printed with an instrumental and a vocal-up version beside it. Questions about track counts sent through the contact form are answered by this role before the session, not after it.

Mastering engineer
Colette Price masters finished mixes for streaming and for disc, setting loudness, balance and the gaps between songs by ear on the room’s monitors. One round of revisions is included, and the files come back within five working days. A mix that needs more than mastering can fix is said so in the first reply rather than mastered anyway.

Assistant engineer and transfer technician
Silas Wren answers the contact form, calibrates the tape machines and runs the analogue transfers, and sets up the vocal booth before each overdub block. This role holds no booking system: an enquiry opens a conversation and a written reply follows during opening hours. Nothing sent through this website books a session on its own.
