Questions and answers
Eight questions, grouped by what they are about: the grooming itself, getting in touch, and health, safety and collection.
Service
About the grooming itself
How does an owner choose between the services?
A bath and tidy keeps the coat at its current length; a full groom and haircut changes the length or shape. Double-coated breeds that shed heavily usually suit the deshedding treatment. When two services seem equally right, a short description of the pet in the contact form is enough for the desk to suggest one.
What does a pet need before its first visit?
A current rabies vaccination record is required for every dog and cat, and dogs should also be up to date with the vaccinations their vet recommends. Owners are asked to walk dogs before drop-off and to mention any health conditions, sore spots, past reactions to grooming or recent surgery when booking.
What happens if the coat is badly matted?
Brushing out tight mats close to the skin is painful, so the groomers do not do it. Where matting is severe, the safe option is usually a short clip that lets the coat grow back evenly. The groomer explains this at drop-off, and no change to the plan or the price is made without the owner agreeing.

Getting in touch and what happens next
Can an owner ask for a particular groomer?
Yes. Name the groomer in the contact form or on the telephone, and the desk offers the times that groomer has free. Cat sessions are booked with Priya Lindqvist on Wednesdays.
If the question is about a particular pet, it is quicker to ask directly. Send a question instead.
Does the website confirm an appointment?
No. A message from the contact form reaches the front desk, and an appointment is confirmed only when the grooming room replies with a time. The Book a visit button leads to the booking page, where available times are shown.
How do changes or cancellations work?
Telephone or send a message as early as possible; at least 24 hours’ notice lets another pet take the slot. The desk confirms any change directly.

Health, safety and collection
Are sedatives or medication ever used?
No. Brushwood Grooming Room is a grooming studio, not a veterinary practice, and it never sedates or medicates a pet. If a pet seems unwell, in pain or too distressed to groom safely, the groomer stops, calls the owner and suggests speaking to a vet.
How long does a pet stay, and how will the owner know it is ready?
Each service lists its usual length. Pets are groomed one at a time and wait in a clean, quiet kennel before and after their turn, never under a heated cage dryer. The front desk calls or texts the owner when the pet is ready to collect.
Ask about a groom
The pet’s breed, rough size and the service wanted are enough to start. Brushwood Grooming Room replies with the times that are actually open.
