The shop runs four chairs and takes haircuts, skin fades, beard work, straight-razor shaves and junior cuts. Every service is given by appointment, in a chair kept for that client for the booked time, and the barber who agrees a cut is the barber who finishes it.
Every appointment begins with the hair combed out rather than with a price list. How the hair grows, how often the client will come back and what the client actually wants are settled in that order, and the service follows from them. Clippers, combs and razors are cleaned and disinfected between clients, and every shave uses a fresh single-use blade.

The price is agreed before the cut
The published price is the price for the service described. If the service changes at the chair, the change and its price are agreed before the clippers start, not at the till.

The hair decides what is possible
Growth pattern, density and length set the limit. Where a requested style would not hold on the hair in the chair, the barber says so rather than cutting it anyway.

One barber, start to finish
A cut is not passed between chairs. Whoever combs out the hair and marks the length finishes the neckline and holds the mirror, so nothing is lost between the agreement and the result.

Take the chair
The hair is combed out and the length is marked with the client watching. This is where the cut and the price are agreed.

The cut is made
Clippers, scissors and razor are used in the order the agreed style needs. A change of service, where it applies, is agreed first.

Mirror and check
The hand mirror goes round the back and both sides. Any adjustment within the agreed cut is part of the same appointment.
What the shop does not do
Brass Chair Barbers cuts and shaves hair. It does not colour, bleach, perm or chemically straighten hair, does not fit hair systems or extensions, and does not shave or trim over broken, infected or freshly tattooed skin. Where a request needs one of those, the shop says so in its reply rather than booking the appointment.
