Six services, each with its published scope
A price with no scope beside it is not information. Each service below states what it covers, what it does not, and who it suits, so the choice can be made before the first conversation rather than during it.

Diagnostic visit
$109
Up to ninety minutes on site. Temperature split across the coil, static pressure across the air handler, airflow at the registers, and the condition of the filter, the drain and the electrical connections. Ends with the readings written down and the options set out. Parts and repair labour are quoted separately.
Suits A system behaving differently from last season, and anyone who has been quoted for a part without being told which reading called for it.

Seasonal tune-up
$149
Coil clean, drain clear and flush, filter change, belt and blower check, refrigerant pressures read and electrical connections tightened, with the before and after readings recorded. Covers one system; a second system on the same visit is priced separately.
Suits A system that runs but has not been opened in a year, and any building where the filter schedule has slipped.

Airflow assessment
$125
Static pressure read across the air handler and at the trunk, register-by-register airflow measured, duct runs traced, and restrictions identified and drawn on a sketch of the building. Ends with a written scope for whatever the readings call for. Duct alteration is quoted separately.
Suits One room that will not hold temperature, a system that runs constantly, or a house where a renovation changed the duct layout.

Thermostat installation
from $240
Supply and fit of a thermostat compatible with the existing equipment, the wiring checked and labelled, the staging and the fan settings configured to the system rather than to the factory default, and the schedule set with the customer. The price starts from the simplest compatible unit.
Suits A failed or unreadable thermostat, and anyone whose heating runs to a schedule nobody in the building recognises.

System replacement quote
no charge
A survey of the building and the existing equipment, a load calculation rather than a like-for-like assumption, and a written comparison of the options with a figure against each. No charge, and no obligation. Repairs to the existing system are quoted separately if a replacement is not chosen.
Suits Equipment near the end of its life, a cracked heat exchanger, and anyone weighing a large repair against a replacement.

Indoor-air consultation
$85
Humidity and temperature logged at several points, the existing filtration rated against the equipment it sits in, and ventilation paths traced. Ends with a written note of what the readings show and what would change them. Equipment is quoted separately.
Suits A building that feels damp or dusty in one season, and anyone choosing between filtration and ventilation without a reading to go on.

What happens in each of the three stages
-
01
Measurement
Readings first: temperature split across the coil, static pressure across the air handler, airflow at the registers, and the condition of the drain and the filter. The numbers are written down and shown.
-
02
Scope and figure
The readings become a written scope with a figure against it. Any part that has to be ordered is named, and the reason the work is needed is stated in a sentence that does not require a technician to read.
-
03
Work and handover
The agreed scope is carried out and the same readings are taken again afterwards, so the effect of the work is a measurement rather than an assurance. Anything found on the way is quoted, never assumed.
When a replacement is the honest answer
Clearspan Comfort Works declines repairs that cost more than the remaining life of the equipment is worth, and says so at the visit rather than after the invoice. A cracked heat exchanger, a compressor on an obsolete refrigerant and a system undersized for the building are all replacement conversations, not repair conversations.
